This writ petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondent to dispose of the petitioner's application dated 16.06.2025 seeking Patta transfer and subdivision in respect of his plot admeasuring 4.917 cents comprised in Block No 18, New survey No 13/1A, Old survey No. 124/1, Ward Veeraragavamuthaliyar Chatram Part-2, Palayamkottai Taluk, Tirunelveli District.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the parties and perused the materials available on record.
3. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondent submitted that the respondent will consider and dispose of the petitioner's application in accordance with law.
4. In view of the above submission, without going into the merits of the matter, this Court directs the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's 2/4
application dated 16.06.2025 after conducting an inquiry, which shall include issuing notice to the petitioner and any other persons who may be affected and considering any objections submitted by them. The third respondent shall thereafter pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. In the event of any rival claims, the same shall be agitated before the competent civil court. No costs.
