Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent herein to remove the encroachment made by the 6th respondent in the Oorani comprised in S.No.406/1 since it is a water catchment area which contains a part of land is a water storage (stagnate) and the remaining area is used for grain dryer, government buildings and for public cart track to agricultural farm of the village people, which is situated in Paruvakudi Village, Sankarankoil Taluk, Tenkasi District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 21.11.2024. ORDER

Heard the learned counsel for the writ petitioner, the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents 1 to 3 and the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents 4 and 5. 2/6

2.It is not in dispute that S.No.406/1, Paravakudi Village, Sankarankovil Taluk has been classified as Oorani. The learned Special Government Pleader confirms that there are encroachments. 3.We direct the third respondent to take action as per law to ensure that the encroachments are cleared. Notices will be issued to all the encroachers. If necessary survey also will be conducted. Oorni will be restored to its original condition within a period of five months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
