O R D E R

1. The petitioner is before this Court seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to issue a passport based on the application submitted by the petitioner dated 14.10.2024.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that criminal cases are pending against the petitioner before the jurisdictional criminal court and, therefore, the passport has not been issued by invoking Section 6(2)(f) of the Passports Act, 1967. The petitioner seeks liberty to approach the jurisdictional criminal court to obtain permission and thereafter make an application for issuance of a passport. 2/4

3. Recording the above submission, this writ petition is disposed of, granting liberty to the petitioner to approach the jurisdictional criminal court for obtaining permission. Upon such application being submitted, the jurisdictional criminal court shall consider the same as expeditiously as possible.

4. There shall be no order as to costs.
