ORDER

Seeking direction to the second respondent to take appropriate action on the petitioner's complaint dated 01.01.2026 as against the proposed accused, this criminal original petition is filed.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner, who belongs to Scheduled Caste Community, was assaulted by the proposed accused, pursuant to which, she was admitted in the Kamarajar Government Hospital, Manaparai, on 14.12.2025 and discharged on 19.12.2025. In this regard, already a complaint was given to the respondent police. Further, on 15.01.2026, the petitioner was assaulted by the proposed accused. Despite complaint was lodged by the petitioner, no action was taken. Hence, this petition.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the discharge summary is available with the respondent police and they will initiate appropriate criminal action within a week.

4.Heard either side and carefully perused the materials available on record.

5.Considering the submissions made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, the second respondent police is directed to register a first information report forthwith and conclude the investigation as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four weeks thereafter after issuing notice under Section 64 BNSS to the petitioner as well as the rival party. The second

respondent is further directed to appraise the progress in the investigation to the first respondent and the first respondent is also directed to monitor the ongoing investigation which is being undertaken by the second respondent and ensure that the same is disposed of within a period of 4 weeks. 6.With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
