ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by J. NISHA BANU, J.) The Writ Petition has been filed for a Mandamus to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to take action against the fifth respondent and to implement the order passed by the second respondent in proceedings dated 05.12.2024 in Na.Ka.No.076079/M2/S2/2024 on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 13.12.2024 within the period stipulated by this Court. 2/6

2. This writ petition is filed as a Public Interest Litigation, wherein the petitioner submits that on 06.12.2024, a birthday celebration for film director Pa.Ranjith was conducted by Neelam Panpattu Maiyam in the fifth respondent school, involving the fifth respondent, Assistant Head Master, Teachers and students of the fifth respondent school. Even though the event is a private function which took place in the premises of the fifth respondent School, the same took place without obtaining prior permission from the 3rd and 4th respondents.

3. Moreover, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the second respondent has issued a directive dated 05.12.2024 in Na.Ka.No. 076079/M2/S2/2024, wherein the same prohibits outsiders from conducting programmes in Government schools following the controversy of event conducted by the Self proclaimed Spiritual Person one Mahavishnu, at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Ashok Nagar, Chennai.

4. Further, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that a detailed complaint was made before the respondents on 13.12.2024 by annexing all the 3/6

photographs of the birthday celebration, banners and posters made by the Neelam Panpattu Maiyam in the fifth respondent school. The grievance of the petitioner is that, till date, no action has been taken against the complaint filed by the petitioner.

5. The learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that pursuant to the incident on 06.12.2024, the Headmaster of the fifth respondent School was called, and the Authority concerned warned him not to repeat the said mistake in the future.

6. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents and perused the materials placed before this Court.

7. This Court is of the considered opinion that the main grievance of the petitioner is that no action has been taken with regard to the complaint filed by him. On the other hand, since the concerned Headmaster of the fifth respondent School itself was called and he was also warned not to repeat the said mistake, the 4/6

prayer sought for in this writ petition does not survive for further adjudication. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
