ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the First Respondent to transfer the investigation in Crime No.74 of 2022 dated 28.02.2022 on the file of the Third Respondent to the Second Respondent or some other Investigation Agency under the supervision of the First Respondent and to file a final report within a stipulated time fixed by this Court.

2.It is the submission of the learned Counsel for the Petitioner that the Petitioner's father went out, but did not return. Hence, the Petitioner gave a complaint before the Respondent Police and the same was registered in Crime No.74 of 2022 as 'Man Missing'. Subsequently, the body of the Petitioner's father was found in the vegetable market at Usilampatti. Therefore, the case was converted into Section 174 of Code of Criminal Procedure on 28.02.2022. But, there is no further development. Therefore, the Petitioner had filed this petition seeking transfer of investigation. 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the Respondents submits that five witnesses had been examined. The body of the deceased was found in a highly decomposed stage. Postmortem was conducted on 03.03.2022. The Forensic report regarding viscera sent for 2/4

Forensic examination is awaited. To proceed further, the Investigation Officer is expecting the Viscera report from the Forensic Department. 4.In the light of the submissions made by the learned Counsel for the Petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, the Superintendent of Police, Madurai Rural, is directed to nominate a Senior Police Officer not below the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police to supervise the investigation in Crime No.74 of 2022 and speed up the investigation, so that the final report of the investigation shall be laid before the Court of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Usilampatti, within a reasonable period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.With the above direction, the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
