ORDER

Heard both sides.

2. The petitioner is the holder of passport. When he obtained passport in the year 1990, his date of birth was correctly entered as 11.04.1968. However, 1/3

at the time of renewal, wrong date of birth had been entered. This is sought to be corrected by the petitioner. All that the petitioner seeks is only restoration of the entry originally made in his passport.

3. In my view, no exception can be taken to his request. The petitioner is permitted to submit a fresh application before the respondent. The original passport shall also be produced. The respondent is directed to verify the records and satisfy himself that the petitioner's contention is correct. On being satisfied, appropriate correction shall be made in the petitioner's passport. The petitioner is presently in Malaysia. The respondent herein is directed to communicate the copy of this order to the Indian Embassy at Malaysia. The petitioner can appear before the Malaysia Embassy and have the entry corrected.
