O R D E R

The learned Counsel appearing for the Petitioner submit that the Petitioner had filed this petition seeking a direction against the Respondents to permit him to conduct peaceful protest. 2.When the case came up for hearing on earlier occasion, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) on instructions of the Respondents objected to conduct protest near the bus stand as it is inconvenient to the free flow of traffic and to the general public. Therefore, the Respondents had refused permission. 3.When the Court was about to pass orders, the learned Counsel for the Petitioner submitted that even though the date for the protest had expired, the organizers of the protest are ready to adjourn the date and change the site insisted and granted by the Respondent Police. In the light of the above, the case was adjourned from 15.03.2024 to 19.03.2024.

4.Today, when the case came up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) on instructions of the Respondents submitted that the Petitioner cannot be permitted to hold protest near the bus stand.

5.Therefore, the query was raised by the Court whether alternate site will be amenable for the Respondents. The Petitioner also agreed to the same. In the light of the above, the Respondents are directed to consider the fresh representation to be filed by the Petitioner granting permission with conditions as per the circular issued by the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu/Head of State Police Force, Chennai-4, in Rc.No.007301/General I(I)/2019, dated 09.04.2019. 6.With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
