O R D E R
The petitioner came forward with this writ petition seeking for the following relief:- "to direct the first and second respondents to disburse the interim compensation in VCP No.18 of 2024 on the file of the Madurai District Legal Service Authority dated 11.11.2024 for Rs.2,50,000/-."
2. The petitioner states that he married one Mahalakshmi. On 10.08.2021, she had visited Vellammal Hospital at Madurai along with her mother to call upon her brother / petitioner's brother-in-law. They went to a hotel nearby to have dinner. After having completed the dinner, while they were crossing the road, a motor cycle allegedly ridden in a rash and negligent manner, dashed against the said Mahalakshmi and thereby, she suffered severe head injury. The hospital declared her " Brain Dead" and her organs were harvested for needy patients.

registered a complaint in Crime No.71 of 2021, but no further action had been initiated.
3. The petitioner claims that he is the victim of a crime and sought compensation under the Victim' Compensation Scheme of 2013. As the application was not disposed of, he filed a writ petition before this Court in W.P(MD).No.3721 of 2023. This writ petition was disposed of, recording the undertaking of the third respondent, that he would conduct an enquiry in terms of Scheme and take appropriate action. The petitioner pleads though a direction was given to pay interim compensation on 11.11.2024, the said amount has not been disbursed. Hence, he came forth with the present writ petition.
4. When the matter came up for admission on 13.03.2025, I called upon Mr.M.Karunanithi, learned Government Advocate and Mr.G.Suriyananth, learned Additional Government Pleader to get instructions as to why further course of action had not been adopted by the respondents.
5. Both the counsels stated that they will get appropriate instructions and report to this Court.

6. When the matter was taken up for hearing today (i.e., 01.04.2025), Mr.Suriyananth produced the proceedings of the third respondent, dated 28.03.2025, to the effect that the interim compensation of Rs.2,50,000/- has been paid to the writ petitioner by way of a Bank transfer.
7. As the relief sought for by the writ petitioner has been granted by the third respondent, no further orders are necessary in this petition. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is closed. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is also closed.
