The petitioner seeks issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to issue e-patta in the name of the writ petitioner in respect of Plot No.4 in R.S.No.57/3B1. 2.Considering the limited relief sought for in the Writ Petition, with the consent of the learned Counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Lingadurai, learned Special Government Pleader, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal even at the state of admission. 3.Learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner belongs to Arunthiriyar Community and he has purchased Plot No.4 from the original assignee namely Balu @ Baluchamy, under sale deed dated 08.12.2010 registered as Document No.5043. It is the case of the petitioner that his vendor had been issued assignment patta for an extent of 3 cents in Plot No.4.
The petitioner has been requesting for mutation of patta in his name and in that regard has made an application as early as on 16.05.2013. He also made an application under the "Amma Plan" on 20.08.2013. Thereafter, the petitioner once again sent a representation on 21.12.2021 and lastly on 27.01.2025.

Considering that the petitioner's vendor has been issued with assignment patta and having purchased the said plot from the original assignee in the year 1998, the petitioner's case will have to be considered by the respondents on merits.
4.The learned Special Government Pleader would submit that the second respondent will inquire into the matter, especially genuineness of the assignment order in favour of the petitioner's vendor and thereafter dispose of the petitioner's representations commencing from 16.05.2013 and ending on 27.01.2025. The said exercise shall be carried out within a period of eight [8] weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5.Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
