PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent no. 2 and 3 to transfer petitioner from Special Prison for Women, Madurai to Special Prison for Women, Puzhal, Chennai in accordance with law within a time stipulated by this Court.

O R D E R
This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner to direct the respondent no.2 and 3 to transfer the petitioner from Special Prison for Women, Madurai to Special Prison for Women, Puzhal, Chennai.
2. According to the petitioner, she is a women prisoner and now she is in Women Prison, Madurai. She is the native of Villupuram District and thereby, she requested to transfer her to Puzhal Prison, Chennai. The petitioner is remanded into judicial custody in Crime No. 395 of 2024 for the offences under Sections 8, 20(b)(ii)(C), 25 and 29(1) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. Now, she is in Women Prison, Madurai. She sent a representation dated 03.03.2025 to Page No. 2 of 5
the respondents and requested to take necessary action to transfer the petitioner from Special Prison for Women, Madurai to Special Prison for Women, Puzhal, Chennai, but the same has not been considered. Hence this petition.
3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents would submit that so far no any representation received from the petitioner. if the petitioner filed any representation, they will consider the representation and dispose of the same within two weeks in accordance with law.
4. The prayer of the petitioner is to consider the representation and already she sent a representation to the respondents no.2 and 3 and the 2nd respondent, who is the competent authority to consider the representation to pass appropriate orders in accordance with law. In view of the same, this Court directs the 2nd respondent to take appropriate decision on the representation of the petitioner dated 03.03.2025 in accordance with law within a period of fifteen [15] days from the date of this order.
