This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the trial Court to expedite the trial in STC. No. 1277 of 2018 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate No. I, Kuzhithurai.

2.According to the petitioner, he is the sole accused in this case. The case is pending from the year 2018. In this case, already complainant side witnesses were examined and thereafter, based on the petition filed by the complainant under Section 311 Cr.P.C was allowed and thereby, the witnesses were examined. Now, the case is posted for examination of further witnesses. From the year 2023 onwards, no witnesses have been examined in this case. Hence, prays for speedy disposal.

3.This Court heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the entire materials.

4.Considering the prayer of the petitioner sought for in the petition, this Court is inclined to dispose the petition without issuing notice to the respondent. Considering the long pendency of the case from the year 2018 and no witnesses were examined after 2023, this Court hereby directs the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Kuzhithurai to dispose of the case in STC No.1277 of 2018 as early as possible without giving any long adjournment, beyond one week. 2/4
