This writ petition has been filed for the issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to provide police security with a gunman round the clock to the petitioner by considering the representation made by the petitioner dated 28.02.2023. 2.The learned Government Advocate, on instructions, submitted that the representation made by the petitioner has already been forwarded to the Commissioner of Police, Madurai. 3.The learned Government Advocate further submitted that the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Madurai Range, through proceedings dated 21.08.2024 has come to a conclusion that the petitioner is not facing any direct or indirect life threat and therefore, providing police protection to the petitioner is not feasible. 2/5
4.In the light of the above decision taken by the respondents, if the petitioner is aggrieved, the petitioner has to necessarily challenge the proceedings of the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Madurai Range, Madurai, dated 21.08.2024 and work out his remedy in the manner known to law.
5.This writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. 07.11.2024 NCC :
