ORDER

Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for in the writ petition, with the consent of the learned counsel on either side, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. 2.The petitioner seeks issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to dispose of his representations dated 03.07.2024 and 14.02.2025. 3.Heard the learned counsel on either side.

4.Admittedly, the petitioner seeks to direct the respondents to effect changes in the survey number as it stood before UDR. The competent authority in this regard is the District Revenue Officer, Tenkasi District. Eventhough the District Revenue Officer, Tenkasi District, is not made a party in the writ petition, I find from the petition addressed to the District Collector, the Revenue Divisional Officer and the Tahsildar, by the petitioner, wherein he has stated that even during the lifetime of his father, he had approached the District Revenue Officer with a request to rectify the mistakes. According to the petitioner, the District Revenue Officer had forwarded the said application of the petitioner's 2/4

father to the Revenue Divisional Officer and the Tahsildar, Kadayanallur Taluk, Tenkasi District, to conduct an enquiry and forward a report. It is the grievance of the petitioner that despite the said direction issued by the District Revenue Officer, the Tahsildar has not taken any steps and hence, the petitioner has been constrained to move this Court seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus. 5.Considering the above, the third respondent/Tahsildar, Kadayanallur Taluk, Tenkasi District, is directed to conduct enquiry as directed by the Revenue Divisional Officer and forward his report to the District Revenue Officer, Tenkasi District to enable the District Revenue Officer to pass final orders on merits and in accoardance with law on the request for correction of the survey number in the UDR records. The third respondent shall complete the said exercise within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of.
