ORDER
The communication dated 01.03.2024 sent by the Executive Officer to the Tahsildar, Alangudi, seeking protection for conducting Panguni Uttram festival in Sri Malai Mariyamman Temple, Senthagudi Village, S.Kulavaipatti, Alangudi Taluk, Pudukkottai District.
2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the Amman statue would be taken from Senthagudi to Kulavaipatti and again from Kulavaipatti to Senthagudi, in the presence of the 8th 3/7
respondent, Balakrishnan Ambalam. The petitioner alone was taking the Amman statue in the Bullock Cart from Senthagudi to Kulavaipatti. The petitioner's right was also acknowledged by the Revenue Authorities in the Peace Committee Meeting held in the year 2012, 2013, 2018, 2022 and 2023 and the petitioner is performing the same for more than 34 years. Now, by the impugned communication, the 6th respondent, without issuing any notice to the petitioner, has recorded as if his right has been conferred on the 8th respondent. Therefore, the petitioner has filed this writ petition.
3. The petitioner has attempted to make out a case based on the proceedings of the Tahsildar, Alangudi. The Tahsildar, Alangudi is not having any role to play in the affairs of the administration of the temple. By the impugned communication, the Executive Officer has sought permission from the Tahsildar, Alangudi, to protect law and order problem. Therefore, this Court is not inclined to interfere with the order.
