O R D E R

This petition has been filed by the petitioner to direct the 2nd respondent to provide adequate police protection for the life and limp of petitioner on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 06.03.2025.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the 4th respondent is her daughter and 3rd respondent is the son-in-law and there is a family dispute pending between the parties. While so, the respondents no.3 and 4 had taken away the gold jewels and other articles, and thereby, he sent a complaint to the 2nd respondent-police on 06.12.2024, but no action was taken. Again, he sent a representation on 06.03.2025 to the respondents no.1 and 2 to provide adequate police protection and the same has not been considered. Hence, he has filed this petition.

3. The Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents no.1 and 2 would submit that the petitioner sent a representation through postal and they received the representation recently. Thereafter, they issued summon to the petitioner to ascertain the Page No. 2 of 5

genuinity of the complaint and C.S.R also issued, and posted for enquiry on 14.03.2025. If the petitioner appears for enquiry, they will conduct the enquiry and dispose of the same within a week. He would further submit that there is no police station available at Palanganatham, the jurisdictional Police Station is Subramaniapuram Police Station.

4. Considering the limited prayer sought for in the petition, this court without even issuing notice to the private respondents inclined to pass orders.

5. According to the petitioner, the respondents no.3 and 4 had taken away 30 sovereigns of gold jewels from the petitioner and he lodged a complaint on 16.12.2024 and thereafter, he sent a representation dated 06.03.2025 for seeking police protection. According to the respondents no.1 and 2, they have received the complaint only trough postal and the same is under enquiry. Therefore, recording the above said submissions of the second respondent-police, this Court directs the second respondent / The Inspector of Police, Subramaniapuram Police Station to complete the enquiry in accordance with law within a period of one week from the date of this order.

6. With the above said direction, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
