Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. Pursuant to the earlier order, dated 17.03.2025, the petitioner has sent his son to the Deputy Tahsildar's office on 26.03.2025. The petitioner's son was permitted to peruse the records and the petitioner has no grievance excepting for one document which according to the petitioner has been transferred from the North Taluk Office to East Taluk Office, on formation of the East Taluk Office in 2014.

However, the learned Additional Government Pleader, on instructions from the Deputy Tahsildar who is present in Court today, submits that is is only the gazette which has been received from the North Taluk Office and no register has been received by the East Taluk Office. He would further submit that the available records are also in shambles and therefore the petitioner's request in so far as the only one document pending cannot be looked into. 2/5

4. However, the learned counsel for the petitioner has produced a copy issued by the North Taluk Office in the year 2012.

In view of the above, direction is issued to the Deputy Tahsildar to verify the genuineness of the said certificate handed over by the learned counsel for the petitioner and on necessary enquiries with the North Taluk Office of Madurai, in the event of certificate being found to be genuine, the 1st respondent shall certify the photocopy as true copy and handover the same to the petitioner.

The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that if this exercise is carried out, the petitioner would be satisfied since he only needs the record for making necessary application for grant of Government benefits. The copy of the communication of the year 2012 has been handed over to the Deputy Tahsildar who has appeared today in Court and the said Deputy Tahsildar shall verify the genuineness of the said communication and if same is found to be genuine, he shall certify the said document as true and hand over the same to the petitioner within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
