Prayer: This petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to pass an order for Extension of period of passport for one year to the petitioner Temporary passport Three Month in W.P.(MD).No.22898 of 2025.

ORDER

This Miscellaneous Petition has been filed seeking a direction to respondents 1 and 2 to extend the validity of the temporary passport issued to the petitioner for a further period of one year.

2. This Court, by order dated 25.08.2025, directed the petitioner to approach the learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Tiruchirappalli, for permission to obtain a temporary passport for a period of three months. Pursuant to the said order, the petitioner approached the learned Magistrate and obtained the necessary permission. Based on the said permission, the second respondent issued a temporary passport to the petitioner valid for a period of three months. The petitioner now seeks extension of the validity of the passport for a period of at least one year in order to undertake the Haj pilgrimage.

In view of the above, this Miscellaneous Petition is disposed of granting liberty to the petitioner to approach the learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Tiruchirappalli, seeking extension of the validity of his passport for a period of one year. If such an application is filed by the petitioner, the learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Tiruchirappalli, shall consider the same on its own merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders.
