Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to process online Application Reference No.200050410322160, dated 12.03.2022 submitted by the writ petitioner and to grant electricity connection to property situated in Ward No.11, Block No.13, Old S.No.144/2, Town Survey No.15, Door No.28, Singampidari Kovil Street, Vilangudi, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai District, within the time limit fixed by this Court. ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed for a Mandamus seeking for a direction to the second respondent to process the online application dated 12.03.2022 submitted by the petitioner seeking for electricity service connection for her property situated at Ward No.11, Block No.13, Old Survey No.144/2, Town Survey No.15, Door No.28, 1/3
Singampidari Kovil Street, Vilangudi, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai District within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
2. The petitioner claims that she is the owner of the aforementioned property. She has submitted an online application dated 12.03.2022 with the respondents seeking for electricity service connection for her property. Since the said application has not been considered till date, she has filed this Writ Petition.
3. Heard Mr.VA.Shanmugaraj, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.S.Deenadhayalan, learned Standing Counsel, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
4. No prejudice would be caused to the respondents, if the petitioner's online application seeking for electricity service connection for the aforementioned property is considered on merits and in accordance with law, after affording a fair hearing to the petitioner including granting her the right of personal hearing.
5. For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the third respondent to consider the petitioner's online application dated 12.03.2022 seeking for grant of electricity service connection for her property situated at Ward No.11, Block No.13, Old Survey No.144/2, Town Survey No.15, Door No.28, Singampidari Kovil Street, Vilangudi, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai District and pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording a fair hearing to the petitioner including granting her the right of personal hearing, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the aforesaid direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
