ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner/A2, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 8(c) r/w 20(b)(ii)(B) and 25 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act in Crime No.94 of 2022 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that on 20.06.2022 the respondent police conducted vehicle check up at Saratha College, while so, the accused persons came in two wheelers bearing Reg.No.TN-74-T-4485 and TN-72-BP-5076, on seeing Police, the accused escaped, however, the police nabbed the co-accused and found he is in possession of 1.5 kg of ganja. Hence, the case. 3.Heard both sides and perused the materials available in records.

4.Admittedly, the petitioner and other accused were in possession of 1.5 kg of ganja. That apart, the petitioner is having https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis 1/2

CRL OP(MD)No.5028 of 2023 15 previous cases, in which, one case is similar in nature. Hence, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this criminal original petition is dismissed.
