O R D E R
The petitioner has come up with the prayer of Mandamus to correct the date of birth in her Aadhaar Card No.5559 7049 0519 from 14.04.1986 to 15.03.1985.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that her date of birth is 15.03.1985. Her other records, including the Birth Certificate, show the said date as her date of birth. However, in the Aadhaar Card alone, it has been wrongly mentioned. Since different dates of birth are reflected in different Page No. 2 of 6
records, the petitioner is not being granted the pension payable to an unmarried daughter under the scheme of the State Government. Therefore, the petitioner has come up with the above prayer.

In response, the learned Deputy Solicitor General of India, taking notice on behalf of the second and third respondents, would submit that the Aadhaar Card will be corrected, provided the petitioner submits any one of the approved documents. The Birth Certificate is an approved document, provided it is a certified copy and contains the name of the petitioner.
4. In this case, it is seen that the petitioner's birth has been recorded by the Madurai City Municipal Corporation. The date of birth and the names of the parents are mentioned therein. However, at that point of time, the name of the child was not mentioned in the Birth Certificate. In view of the nature of the issue involved, the Assistant Health Officer, Registration of Births and Deaths, Madurai City Municipal Corporation, Madurai, is suo motu impleaded as the fourth respondent in this Writ Petition.

5. In view thereof, this Writ Petition is disposed of on the following terms:
i.
The fourth respondent is directed to include the name of the petitioner, K.Moogambigai, in the Birth Certificate bearing Registration No.115/1985/10/00154 and upload the corrected Birth Certificate in the portal within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a web copy of this order. ii. Thereafter, the petitioner shall take a printout of the Birth Certificate and upload the same through the third respondent Aadhaar Seva Kendra, upon which the date of birth in the Aadhaar Card shall be corrected and the corrected card shall be uploaded on the website within a period of three weeks from the date of uploading of the corrected Birth Certificate. iii. No costs.
