This Writ Petition is filed challenging the impugned order dated 12.01.2026.

2. Upon hearing the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the second respondent and perusing the material records of the case, it could be that the third respondent has submitted a petition claiming that he is the owner of the property. The petitioner also claims ownership of the said property. If that be so, the impugned order is nothing but a direction calling upon the petitioner to produce relevant records in his favour so as to enable the authorities to decide the request for change of name in the property tax assessment made before the official respondents.

3. Therefore, this Writ Petition is disposed of on the following terms:

i. The petitioner will be entitled to submit his reply and also produce such documents in his control in support of his claim pursuant to the impugned proceedings dated 12.01.2026. The petitioner shall file his reply and documents within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a web copy of this order.

As and when the same are filed, the second respondent shall decide the issue as expeditiously as possible. It is made clear that the writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage without notice to the third respondent and this Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the case. The petitioner as well as the third respondent shall also be heard while deciding the question.

ii. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
