ORDER : The Court made the following order :- When the matter was taken up for hearing today, it was submitted that the petitioner was earlier arrested and subsequently released on bail in this case. Thereafter, he failed to appear before the trial Court, and the trial in S.C. No.317 of 2022 on the file of the learned IV Additional Sessions Court, Madurai, is still pending. The petitioner had also absconded and was later secured and produced before the Court.
2. It is further seen that the petitioner has several previous criminal cases, as pointed out by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor.
3. Considering the above circumstances, particularly the conduct of the petitioner in absconding and the existence of previous criminal antecedents, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage. Accordingly, this Criminal Original petition is dismissed. However, liberty is granted to the petitioner to file a fresh petition after the examination of key witnesses.
