PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission to conduct the Manju Virattu on 27.03.2024 at Vellimalai Seervalar Seerchinnandi Sithar Pugal Arumigu Valli Deivanai Sametha Shanmuganatha Perumaan Temple situated Vellimalai Pottapatti Village Melur Taluk Madurai District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 06.03.2024.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by D. KRISHNAKUMAR, J.) The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission to conduct the Manju Virattu on 27.03.2024 at Vellimalai Seervalar Seerchinnandi Sithar Pugal Arumigu Valli Deivanai Sametha Shanmuganatha Perumaan Temple situated Vellimalai Pottapatti Village, Melur Taluk, Madurai District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 06.03.2024. 2/5

The learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 3, on instructions, would submit that the village in which "Manju Virattu" event is sought to be conducted by the petitioner, is not notified in the Government Gazette published under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960. He would further submit that the petitioner's request had already been rejected by the authorities.

3. In the light of the above, we find no merits in this writ petition. Hence, this writ petition is dismissed. It is for the petitioner to make an appropriate application before the Government for notifying the village in the Government Gazette. No Costs.
