Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue aWrit of Mandamus or any other appropriate writ or order or direction in the nature of the writ directing the Respondents 1 & 2 to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner to conduct the Kedara Gowri Nonbu at Sri Rukmani Satyabama Sri Gokulakrishnan Thirukovil situated at Naganakulam, Peria Konmai, Thirupalai III Bit Madurai North Madurai district on 03.11.2013 from 02.00 PM to 9.00 PM by considering the representation made by the Petitioner on 24.09.2013 and 09.10.2013.

JUDGMENT

************* [Judgment of the Court was made by K.RAVICHANDRABAABU,J.] This Writ Appeal is directed against the order of the Writ Court made in W.P(MD)No.17089 of 2007, dated 31.10.2013 in dismissing the Writ Petition filed by the appellant herein. 2.The Writ Petitioner sought for a Mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 to provide adequate police protection to the Petitioner to conduct the Kedara Gowri Nonbu at Sri Rukmani Satyabama Sri Gokulakrishnan Thirukoivil situated at Naganakulam, Peria Kanmoi, Thirupalai-III Bit, Madurai North, Madurai District on 03.11.2013 from 2.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m by considering the representation made by the Petitioner on 24.09.2013 and 09.10.2013.

3.The Writ Court after considering the rival submissions of the parties, has chosen to dismiss the Writ Petition, on the reasons set out therein. As against the said order, the present Writ Appeal is filed.

4.Heard both sides.

5.A bare perusal of the prayer sought for in the Writ Petition would show that nothing survives in this Writ Petition to be adjudicated upon further, since the relief sought for before the Writ Court was in respect of Pooja to be conducted at a particular date namely 03.11.2013 and therefore, without expressing any view on the merits and contentions raised by the learned counsel for the appellant, the Writ Appeal is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
