Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue writ, order or direction, more particularly in the nature of a WRIT OF MANDAMUS directing the 4th respondent to grant necessary permission to conduct the Chitrai Festival of Arulmighu Srimarriamman Temple situated at Thathanoor, Thottiyappati Anjal, Marungapuri Taluk, Trichy District and also directing the respondents 1 to 3 to provide

necessary police protection on the festival dates i.e.1.6.14 to 5.6.14 and on 11.6.14 for worshipping the diety during the above days by considering the representation given by the petitioner dated 17.5.14.

J U D G M E N T

[Judgment of the Court by K.RAVICHANDRABAABU, J.] This writ appeal is directed against the order passed in W.P. (MD) No.8420 of 2014, dated 21.05.2014.

2. The fifth respondent in the writ petition is the appellant herein. Though this writ appeal is filed by raising very many grounds, we are not inclined to go into all those contentions in view of the fact that the very prayer sought for in the writ petition is in respect of a festival scheduled to be conducted between 01.06.2014 and 05.06.2014 and on 11.06.2014 at the subject matter temple and thus, the said prayer has become infructuous.

3. Accordingly, this writ appeal is dismissed as infructuous, without expressing any view on the merits and contentions raised by both parties. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
