Respondent PRAYER: Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to re-issue the passport of the petitioner bearing number P5547697 by correcting the name processed in Application in File No.MD2072393457519 dated 27.08.2019 within a timeframe fixed by this Hon'ble Court. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Assistant Solicitor General for the respondents.

2. The petitioner seeks name correction and re-issuance of his passport. The petitioner fairly states that a criminal case was registered against him and he has also been charge sheeted. Summons are yet to be issued.

3. Be that as it may, final report has also been taken on file by the jurisdictional Court. Hence, the petitioner has to necessarily approach the jurisdictional Court, where final report has been filed.

4. In view of the above, the Writ petition stands dismissed. No costs. Liberty is given to the petitioner to approach the jurisdictional criminal court.
