O R D E R
The Petitioner, who is an Advocate, lodged a complaint before the Thenkarai Police Station and filed this Writ Petition for a Mandamus, directing the respondent police to obtain sanction under Section 197 Cr.P.C.
2. When the writ petition is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that the complaint of this petitioner was closed as "mistake of fact", on 31.12.2023. A copy of the report has also been furnished to the learned counsel for the petitioner. The petitioner can work out his remedy by filing a private complaint before the concerned Judicial Magistrate.

3. The respondent police is directed to file this report to the learned Judicial Magistrate and the petitioner is at liberty to file a protest petition or a private complaint under Section 200 Cr.P.C.
4. With the above observation, this Writ Petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
