The petitioner has filed this criminal original petition, under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, seeking police protection to him and his family members so as to enable them to enjoy the landed property in Survey No.53/4 of Thevarambur Village, Thirupathur Taluk, Sivagangai District, based on the representation, dated 05.11.2015.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1 and 2.

3. A perusal of the representation, dated 05.11.2015, would go to show that the dispute is civil in nature. In my considered opinion, in this matter, police protection cannot be granted. Therefore, the direction as sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted and it is for the petitioner to work out his remedy in the manner known to law.
