Prayer:- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 4 to initiate inquiry and action as against the fifth respondent for excommunicating the petitioner for not receiving Thalaikattu Vari in connection with Poo Thiruvizha of Sri Muthumariamman Temple, situated at R.Palakurichi, scheduled to be held on 24.03.2024, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 09.03.2024. ORDER

Although there is no representation on behalf of the petitioner, it is noticed that the petitioner has approached this Court to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to take suitable action against the fifth respondent, who appears to have followed prejudicial practices by excommunicating the petitioner from contributing Thalaikattu Vari in connection with Poo Page No. 2 of 5

Thiruvizha of Sri Muthumariamman Temple, situated at R.Palakurichi, scheduled to be held on 24.03.2024.

2. Though the Temple festival would have got over on the said date, it cannot be straightaway inferred that the relief sought for in this Writ Petition has become infructuous, as the petitioner was being discriminated based on the religion.

3. Be that as it may, the third respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 09.03.2024 and take suitable action, if required. This exercise shall be completed within a period of eight weeks from today. It is also open for the petitioner to approach the fourth respondent, if he has any other grievance.
