ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition is filed praying to direct the learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Kovilpatti, Thoothukudi District, to expedite the trial in C.C.No.92 of 2014 and complete the same expediously.
2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is in the verge of retirement and the pendency of the present criminal case is a hurdle for the peaceful retirement of the Petitioner and therefore, the proceedings in C.C.No.92 of 2014 pending on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Kovilpatti, Thoothukudi District, may be directed to expedite.
3. The learned Government Advocate (crl.side) appearing for the respondent would submit that there are totally 19 witnesses in this case and P.W.1 alone has been examined sofar. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
4. The Court heard the submissions of the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (crl.side) appearing for the respondent.
5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also the submissions made on either side, this Court directs the learned learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Kovilpatti, Thoothukudi District, to expedite the trial in C.C.No.92 of 2014 and complete the same as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of five months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. The Criminal Original Petition is ordered accordingly.
