Today, Mr.S.Shankar, Special Sub Inspector of Police, Vadipatti Police Station, is present before this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Government Advocate (crl. side) for the respondents.

3. The learned Government Advocate, on instructions, submitted that the first petitioner is an accused in Crime Nos.162, 164 and 165 of 2017 for offence under Section 420 IPC on the file of the Vadipatti Police Station, inasmuch as he had collected money from lot of villagers and had cheated them. 4.Per contra, the learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the first petitioner had only introduced the villagers to Madurai Great India Agrotech Ltd., and he had also invested money in the said company and that company had defaulted in making the payment and for that FIR has been registered against the Company.

5. Be that as it may, when the atmosphere has changed in the village, it may not be possible for the police to give police protection to the 1st petitioner. Hence, the petition is dismissed against the first petitioner. As regards the petitioners 2 to 5, who are the relatives of the first petitioner, the police shall ensure that no harm befalls them, when they go to their homes in the village, by giving them police protection.
