The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking a Mandamus as against the respondents to re-issue the passport with correct date of birth of the the petitioner within the time stipulated by this Court, based upon his representation dated 11.02.2025.
2. The petitioner was initially issued with passport on 27.07.2018. In the said passport the date of birth of the writ petitioner is incorporated as 10.06.1997. Due to a complaint lodged with regard to scam in issuance of passport, a Memo was issued to the writ petitioner. Pursuant to which, he had appeared before the Passport Officer and he had submitted his passport to the first respondent. Thereafter, the present writ petition has been filed seeking to alter his date of birth from 10.06.1997 to 15.04.2001. A perusal of the passport reveals that it is valid up to July 2028. 2/5
3. According to the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, the petitioner's other documents namely, PAN Card, Voter ID Card, Transfer Certificate, Birth Certificate and Higher Secondary Mark Statement and Aadhar Card reflect the correct date of birth i.e., 15.04.2001. However, by mistake, at the time of taking the initial passport wrong date of birth was incorporated and therefore, he has now made a request to the respondent to re-issue the passport with correct date of birth.
4. In view of the above said facts, the petitioner is directed to approach the first respondent with all the original records. The first respondent shall verify the original records and thereafter, on being satisfied with the correct date of birth as 15.04.2001 shall re-issue passport. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of eight seeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said observation, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
