PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 09.02.2026 and to permit the petitioner to participate in the public meeting organizing by the 2nd respondent with regards to the Land Acquisition proceedings in G.O. (Ms) No.321 by the Department of Tourism, Culture and Religious Endowment dated 26.12.2022 and to provide adequate compensation for his land in survey No.951/5A, 951/5C, 973/1A and 974/3 in Palani Village, Palani Taluk, Dindigul District. O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed to to direct the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 09.02.2026 and to permit the petitioner to participate in the public meeting organizing by the 2nd respondent with regards to the Land Acquisition proceedings in G.O. (Ms) No.321 by the Department of Tourism, Culture and Religious Endowment dated 26.12.2022 and 2/6

to provide adequate compensation for his land in survey No.951/5A, 951/5C, 973/1A and 974/3 in Palani Village, Palani Taluk, Dindigul District.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that one Murugesan was the original owner of the property comprised in Survey Nos. 951/5A, 951/5C, 973/1A, and 974/3, situated in Palani Village, Palani Taluk, Dindigul District, measuring an extent of 24 cents out of an undivided share of 73 cents. Thereafter, the petitioner purchased the said property by way of a registered sale deed bearing Document No. 919 of 2014 dated 30.04.2014 and has been in possession and enjoyment of the same ever since. It is further submitted that the petitioner had applied for mutation of patta; however, the same has not been considered by the respondents. Meanwhile, the respondents are attempting to acquire the petitioner's property for the benefit of the Palani Temple. Therefore, the petitioner seeks permission to participate in the land acquisition proceedings.

3. Heard the learned Government Advocate appearing the respondents 1 to 3 and 5 and the learned counsel appearing for the 4th respondent.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the second respondent to conduct an enquiry after issuing notice to the petitioner as well as the petitioner's vendor and thereafter pass appropriate orders as per law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
