Contempt Petition filed under section 11 of the Contempt of Courts act 1971, to punish the contemnor for willful disobedience of the order dated 17.09.2025 passed in W.P.(MD) No. 21726 of 2025 by this Court.

ORDER

This Court vide order dated 17.09.2025 has directed the District Revenue Officer to consider the petitioner's request to pay compensation in accordance to Right to Fair Compensation Act and to issue a speaking order to the petitioner within a period of 12 weeks.

2.Today, it is submitted that respondent has passed a speaking order dated 04.06.2026 by quantifying the compensation as Rs.2,89,055/-. Therefore, there is no contempt as https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

alleged. Hence, the contempt petition is closed. No costs. However, the petitioner is at liberty to recover the amount from the National Highways Authority by initiating separate proceedings.
