Prayer: Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to pass order for granting appointment on compassionate ground based on the eligible qualification of the petitioner by considering the representations submitted by the petitioner dated 27.01.2023 and 23.02.2023 within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioner's father was employed as Conductor in the respondent Corporation. He passed away while in service on 06.09.2022. The petitioner has given an application for appointment on compassionate ground. The application has been submitted within time.

3. The Managing Director of the second respondent Corporation is directed to consider and pass order on the petitioner's application. Of course the petitioner cannot hope to jump the queue. The second respondent will bear in mind the norms set out in the relevant scheme and grant appointment to the petitioner subject to his eligibility when his turn comes.
