ORDER
[Order of the Court was made by N.ANAND VENKATESH, J.] This petition has been filed effectively seeking interim suspension of sentence in order to enable the appellant (A1) to attend the ear boring ceremony of his daughter on 25.03.2026.
2. The appellant was convicted and sentenced by the Additional District and Sessions Judge, Fast Track Court, Kumbakonam, in S.C.No. 134 of 2019, dated 08.12.2023, to life imprisonment. The petitioner is presently confined at Central Prison, Trichy.
3. The ear boring ceremony of the petitioner's daughter has been fixed on 25.03.2026 and hence the petitioner has sought interim suspension of sentence.

4. Taking into consideration the reason assigned in the petition and considering the fact that the ceremony is being conducted for the daughter of the petitioner, we are inclined to grant interim suspension of sentence.
5. In the result, this Criminal Miscellaneous Petition is disposed of on the following terms:
a) The petitioner is granted interim suspension of sentence for the period from 21.03.2026 at 10.00 a.m. to 26.03.2026 at 5.00 p.m. b) One surety of the petitioner's wife shall be executed before the Superintendent, Central Prison, Trichy and she shall execute a bond for a sum of Rs.10,000/- and the personal bond of the petitioner shall be executed for a sum of Rs.10,000/- to the satisfaction of the learned Additional District and Sessions Judge (Fast Track), Kumbakonam. c) The surety shall affix her photograph and Left Thumb Impression in the surety bond and the Superintendent, Central Prison, Trichy, may obtain a copy of her Aadhar card or Bank passbook to ensure her identity.
d) The petitioner shall appear and sign before the respondent 3/5
Police from 21.03.2026 to 25.03.2026 at 6.00 p.m. everyday without fail. e) The petitioner shall surrender before the Superintendent, Central Prison, Trichy, on 26.03.2026 by 5.00 p.m.
6. Post this case on 27.03.2026 under the caption ''for reporting compliance''.
