ORDER
This petition is filed for a direction to the respondent police to file the final report in connection with Crime No.19 of 2019.
2.When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, submitted that the accused has cheated the petitioner to the tune of Rs.50,00,000/- and they have also completed the investigation. In view of the present COVID-19 Pandemic, they are not in a position to file the final report in this case. He further submitted that while the accused moved for anticipatory bail, on the direction of this Court, the accused has deposited the entire amount of Rs.50,00,000/-. 4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that though the accused has deposited the sum of Rs.50,00,000/-, since the respondent has not filed the final report, the deposited amount is kept idle.
5.Considering the rival submissions and also the present state of affairs, this criminal original petition is allowed with a direction to the respondent Police to file the final report in Crime No.19 of 2019 as expeditiously as possible in any event not later than four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
