Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to pay compensation of Rs.10,00,000/- to the petitioner for the death of his wife, namely, Banu due to electric shock and negligence on the part of the respondents within the stipulated time that may be fixed by this Court. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioner's wife was found dead in the terrace on 11.02.2022. She appears to have died due to electrocution. Crime No.21 of 2022 was registered on the file of the local Police Station. The petitioner seeks compensation for his wife's death. I went through the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition. I am not in a position to arrive at a definite conclusion that TANGEDCO is at fault. In a case of this nature, evidence will have to be adduced. In writ proceedings it is not possible. 2/4

3. Granting liberty to the writ petitioners to file a civil suit for claiming damages, this writ petition is disposed of. This writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
