Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the fifth respondent to discontinue the Tender by not extending the period of the Tender further allotted to control and prevention of dengue by considering and passing appropriate orders on the representation dated 04.03.2021 of the petitioner within a time frame as fixed by this Court.

************ [Order of the Court was made by T.S.SIVAGNANAM, J.] Heard Mr.N.R.Balaji, learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mr.K.Mu.Muthu, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1 to 4 and Mr.Rajarajan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the fifth respondent. 2.The petitioner claiming to be a social activist has filed this writ petition styled as a Public Interest Litigation stating that the fifth respondent Municipality should not extend the tender granted to a licensee who has been engaged to provide certain sanitisation work in the municipal area.
3.On a reading of the affidavit filed in support of this writ petition, we find that there is absolutely no public interest in the plea raised by the petitioner. As rightly pointed out by Mr.Rajarajan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the fifth respondent, the decision taken by the municipality is in the interest of the local public and the extension of license is only for a period of six [6] months, considering the corona pandemic. Therefore, we find no reasons to entertain this writ petition.
4.Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands dismissed. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
