The writ petitioner filed this Writ Petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission and necessary protection to conduct the Adal Padal Programme on 04.05.2023 at 06.00 PM to 11.00 PM in connection with Thiru Vizha of Arulmigu Sri Azhagambigai Sametha Azhagaperumalishwarar Thirukovil at M.Edaiyapatti Village, Marungapuri Taluk, Trichy District.
2. Mr. B.Nambiselvan, learned Additional Public Prosecutor takes notice for the respondents. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that in the previous year, while celebrating the festival, some sort of trouble arose in the event (i.e) Adal Padal, over which the case in Crime No.76 of 2022 has been registered for the offences punishable under Section 147, 294(b), 323 and 506(i) of IPC against some of the persons who belongs to very same village. So, apprehending the law and order problem, objection has been raised by the respondent. 2/4
4. If it is so, let the above said representation will be disposed of within a week from the date of receipt of copy of this order. So that the petitioner can workout his remedy through appropriate proceedings.
5. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
