ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to renew the registration of Thiruchuzhi Hindu Nadar Uravin Murai, Registration No.67/1973, based on the special resolution dated 06.06.2019, within the time frame fixed by this Court.

2. Heard Mr.G.Sundaram, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.K.Sathya Singh, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents.

It is seen from the records that pursuant to the orders passed by this Court in W.P.(MD)No.18775 of 2019, a retired District Judge was nominated as a Election Officer and election was conducted in the society and the office bearers have taken charge. The petitioner, who seems to be the rival party, has indulged in passing a resolution by convening a special general body and based on that resolution, has approached the first respondent to renew the registration of Thiruchuzhi Hindu Nadar Uravin Murai.

In the considered view of this Court, this is an exercise which should be done only by the elected body and the petitioner cannot be allowed to parallelly exercise a right of approaching the first respondent seeking for renewal of registration. It is clear that the petitioner and his group of persons have attempted to overreach an elected body and therefore, this Court is not inclined to entertain this Writ Petition.
