ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by N. ANAND VENKATESH,J.) This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 23.02.2026, wherein, the petitioner has sought for grant of ordinary leave to her husband, who is presently serving sentence at Central Prison, Palayamkottai.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

3. The petitioner has sought for ordinary leave on the ground that her daughter has attained puberty and the function has to be conducted and certain financial arrangements will have to be made for conducting the family function. The petitioner has also stated that her husband has served sentence for nearly eight years.

4. Considering the reasons cited by the petitioner in the representation, without going into the merits of the case, we deem it fit to direct the first respondent to deal with the representation made by the petitioner on 23.02.2026 on merits and in accordance with law and take a decision within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. This writ petition (Criminal) stands disposed of in the above terms.
