O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to file a final report in Crime No. 1 of 2020 dated 07.02.2020.

2.According to the petitioner, he is the victim in this case and based on the complaint lodged by the defacto complainant, a case in Crime No.1 of 2020 was registered by the second respondent for the offence under Section 420, 294(b), 506(1) of IPC and Sections 4 and 3 of Prize Chit and Money Circulation Schemes (Banning) Act, 1978 as against the Sparrow Global Trade Company and Elfin Group of Company. But after registration of the FIR, no proper investigation has been conducted and still the case is pending without any progress and so far no final report has been filed. Hence this petition. 2/5

3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police would submit that more than 15 accused involved in this case and so far 629 complaints were received against the accused and a sum of Rs.27 Crores involved in this case. Already, the Director General of Police passed order to transfer all the cases to Economic Offences Wing, Trichy and now the investigation is pending in this case and already some of the properties have been identified for attachment and steps are also being taken in this regard. Therefore, the investigation will be completed within a period of six months. 4.Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for in this petition and so many victims involved in this case and so far 629 complaints have been received and around a sum of Rs.

27 Crores involved in this case and the second respondent also taking steps to attach the properties, which were identified during the investigation, recording the same, the second respondent is directed to complete the investigation and file final report as early as possible, preferably, within a period of six months from the date of this order in accordance with law.

5.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
