O R D E R
The writ petition has been filed by the Poosari of Kammpathadi Perumal Kovil, Uthappanayakkanur, Madurai District, seeking a direction against the second respondent / Joint Commissioner, Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment Department, Madurai District, to consider the representations given by the petitioner dated 11.01.2023 and 20.02.2023 and thereby retrieve the lands of the said temple.
2. The learned Additional Government Pleader, who had taken notice on behalf of the second respondent had forwarded the instructions received, wherein, the District Revenue Officer, Madurai 2/5
had issued proceedings in this regard relating to lands of the temple. A representation has also made that the hereditary trustee of the temple, Chandrasekara Pandiyan is also be recognized and should be heard during the proceedings.
3. The petitioner may also be invited to offer his views but primarily, let the District Revenue Officer, proceed with the enquiry, conduct the enquiry and complete it within a reasonable time preferably, on or before 31.07.2023. No further orders are required.
4. With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
