JUDGMENT

(By G.R.SWAMINATHAN, J.) Heard both sides.

2.Even though the appellant herein invoked writ jurisdiction only for the purpose of altering the date of birth found in his passport, considering the special facts and circumstances of this case, we direct the Regional Passport Officer, Madurai to renew the appellant's passport and issue the same as expeditiously as possible by mentioning his date of birth as 30.07.1973.

3.With the aforesaid direction, this writ appeal is disposed of. No costs.
