ORDER

This petition is filed for direction to the respondent No.2 to provide adequate Police protection to the petitioner's life and limbs.

2.The petitioner, who is doing some business in Sivakasi, has borrowed money from the respondents 4 and 5 for exorbitant interest. In view of the present COVID-19 pandemic, he was not in a position to repay the loan amount. The respondent police have intimidated, harassed and put them under pressure and therefore, he lodged a complaint before the Sivakasi Police Station, which was enquired by the third respondent, Sub Inspector of Police / Mr.Pandian. The respondent police also colluding with the respondents 4 and 5 did not take any action on the complaint and therefore, he filed this petition for a direction to direct the respondent to provide adequate police protection.

Crl.O.P(MD)No.6145 of 2020 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor on instructions, submits that this petitioner has borrowed money from the respondents 4 and 5 and also from various other persons and he made this complaint, as if the respondent and others are harassing him to repay the money immediately. The complaint of the petitioner was treated in Current Paper No.G3/10788/603/2020 on the file of the second respondent Police and the respondents 4 and 5 are also examined. During the enquiry, the petitioner undertook to pay the loan amount and requested for some breathing time and the respondents 3 and 4 are also willing to give some time for repayment. Accordingly the petitioner has also withdraws his complaint.

5.Recording the submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this petition is closed as no further order is required to be passed. However, it is open to the petitioner to file further complaint, as and when, any cause of action arises.
