Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 02.01.2021 and provide water service connection under the Scheme of Thamiraparani Joint Drinking Water Scheme to the petitioner's house bearing Door No.74, Veda Kovil Street, T.N.Puthukudi, Puliyankudi, Kadayanallur Taluk, Tenkasi District.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 02.01.2021, wherein the petitioner is seeking for providing water service connection under the Thamiraparani Joint Drinking Water Scheme.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he got the water service connection to his house in the year 1972 and he has also been paying the water tax without any default. According to the petitioner, the water supply was not regular in the existing connection and therefore, a representation was made to the respondent on 02.01.2021, to provide water service connection under Thamiraparani Joint Drinking Water Scheme. Since the same was not considered, the present Writ Petition has been filed before this Court seeking appropriate directions.

3. Heard Mr.V.Sasikumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.M.Rajarajan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondent.

4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for in this Writ Petition, there shall be a direction to the respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 02.01.2021, on its own merits and in accordance with law and take a decision within a https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD)No.7947 of 2021 period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
