stop removing "Ubari Soil" or "Savadu Sand" from the patta lands pertaining to the 5th Respondent, comprised in S.No.82/1B (to the extent of 0.30.0 Hectors), 82/1E ( to the extent 0.14.5 Hectors) and 82/5 ( to the extent of 0.25.0 Hectors), totally 0.69.5 Hectors land in Patta No.853, situated at Iluppaiyur Village at the banks of the "Gundar River" and also along the "Kiruthumal River" running through the Virudhunagar District.

[Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.] Regarding the individual quarrying operation allegedly done by the persons will be dealt with by the authorities in accordance with law. Compliant in this regard filed by the petitioner is to be looked into and offenders are to be prosecuted.

2.The learned Government Pleader would submit that now the river sand quarrying is not permitted by the Government. Thus, in the event of compliant or information about illegal sand quarrying operation, the authorities are bound to initiate all appropriate actions including criminal prosecution. 2/4

3.With the above said directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Writ Miscellaneous Petitions are also closed.
