Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus directing the respondent Nos. 1 and 2 to provide adequate Police Protection to the petitioner and her husband viz., T. Kumar, S/o. Thangaraj and his family members and consequently, direct the respondent Nos. 1 and 2 to forbear the respondent No. 3 and his henchmen from interfering with the petitioner's peaceful matrimonial life.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed for issuing a direction to the respondent Nos. 1 and 2 to provide adequate Police Protection to the petitioner and her husband viz., T. Kumar, S/o. Thangaraj and his family members and consequently, direct the respondent Nos. 1 and 2 to forbear the respondent No. 3 and his henchmen from interfering with the petitioner's peaceful matrimonial life.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent Nos. 1 and 2.

3. According to the petitioner, she made a complaint to the respondents, Police to provide adequate Police protection to the petitioner and her husband.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent Nos. 1 and 2, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's father made a complaint to the respondents, police that https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

his daughter was missing. During the enquiry, it was found that the petitioner married one Kumar and he belongs to some other community. Therefore, the petitioner is having a threat to her life at the hands of the petitioner's father. Hence, she seeks Police Protection and filed the aforesaid Writ Petition.

5. He would further submit that at the time of enquiry, the petitioner's father gave a statement that there is no threat to the life of the petitioner and her husband and also he will not cause any trouble to the petitioner.

6. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner seeks liberty to approach the respondent police, if the petitioner has given any life threat to the petitioner.

7. In view of the submissions made by the both parties, this Court is of the view that the petitioner can make fresh representation to the respondents, Police, to seek the police protection, if there is any life threat to the petitioner at the hands of the petitioner's father, and on such representation, the respondents, Police is directed to consider the same on merits and in accordance with law.

8. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
